How much will Tutor.id charge me?

Tutor.id is for free if you are receiving cash payments from your client. However, if you choose to receive cash payments, we cannot guarantee you will be paid on time, or even paid at all. With card payments, we can make sure your booking & cancellation policies are respected and that you will be paid at the end of your session. Since we guarantee you will be paid, and also take all the risks that come from card payments for you, we will take 10% of your lesson fee at every card transaction (that includes also the transaction fees).

Does Tutor.id declare taxes from my tutoring fees?

Tutor.id does not do any tax declarations for the users, however you can keep track of your earnings inside of the platform, in the Bank section. We will not only help you with the accounting of card payments, but also with the cash payments, too. All you have to do is to mark whether your student paid the lesson or not.

What is Stripe?

Stripe is a payment service provider that is helping us to get you paid. All you have to do is connect with Stripe (see here the countries Stripe supports - https://stripe.com/global) and receive your payment directly to your bank account after the session.

How do I get paid from my students or their parents?

You can choose getting paid by cash or card. Stripe is helping us to handle the card payments. By connecting with Stripe, you will get paid directly to your bank account.

The entity TutorID OÜ ("us", "we", or "our") operates the websites https://tutor.id, https://tutorid.com, https://tutorid.com.br (the "Service").

Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data Under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

If you are from the European Economic Area (EEA), TutorID OÜ legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described in this Privacy Policy depends on the Personal Data we collect and the specific context in which we collect it.

TutorID OÜ may process your Personal Data because:

  • We need to perform a contract with you
  • You have given us permission to do so
  • The processing is in our legitimate interests and it's not overridden by your rights
  • For payment processing purposes
  • To comply with the law

Retention of Data

TutorID OÜ will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

TutorID OÜ will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

TutorID OÜ will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

Disclosure of Data

Business Transaction

If TutorID OÜ is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Legal Requirements

TutorID OÜ may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • To comply with a legal obligation
  • To protect and defend the rights or property of TutorID OÜ

Service Providers

Klipfolio is an online service that enables its Customers (“Service") to aggregate diverse data from multiple sources and quickly create a new, actionable perspective on their business (“Service"). The Service integrates with hundreds of data sources ranging from social media platforms to enterprise management services.   • Intercom. We use Intercom to help us know who is using our product or website and to personally communicate with them through targeted content, behavior-driven email, in-app, and web messages. Intercom helps us meet our data portability requirements for GDPR, we can easily export all of our data or granular subsets linked to an individual and permanently delete all data linked to an individual user. Intercom also automatically expire visitor data that has not been seen in 9 months, to ensure compliance with GDPR.
  • Hotjar. We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices (in particular device's IP address (captured and stored only in anonymized form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), preferred language used to display our website). Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile. Neither Hotjar nor we will ever use this information to identify individual users or to match it with further data on an individual user. Payments

Welcome to Tutor.id, operated by TutorId Limited.

By accessing Tutor.id website found at www.tutor.id and www.tutorid.com, whether through a mobile device or computer (collectively, the “Service”) you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (this “Agreement”), whether or not you create a Tutor.id account. If you wish to create a Tutor.id account and make use of the Service, please read these Terms of Use. TutorId Limited is a registered company in Ireland and support operations around the world.

Changes to the Website

You acknowledge and accept that we may from time to time alter, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the Website or the Content available through it and you will be notified at every change.

Further, we may alter the Terms from time to time. If we do so, the updated version will be effective as soon as it is uploaded on to this site. We recommend that you revisit this page at every change of our terms of use to ensure that you are aware of any changes that we have made to these Terms. By continuing to use the Website following any amendments to the Terms, you indicate your agreement to such amendments.

You accept that you will have no claim for breach of contract or otherwise in respect of any such alterations to the Website or these Terms.

Your Eligibility and Usage

You agree and acknowledge that:

  • in order to register as a Tutor, be eligible to receive payments and offer tutoring services you must register and create an account and warrant to us that you are 18 or older.
  • in order to register as a Student you should warrant us that you are 18 or older. If the Student is under 18, the legal responsible must register and create and account for the student as well as managing the account. The underaged student under no circumstances should use the account & application even with parental permission.
  • you can register to join the Service as a Tutor by logging into your Account using certain third party social networking sites (“SNS”) (including, but not limited to Facebook) via our Site. When you register by logging into an SNS via our Site, we will obtain the Personal Information you have provided to that SNS (including, but not limited to your “real” name, profile picture, email address, list of SNS friends and any other information that you make available via the applicable SNS) from the account you have with such SNS and use that information to create your account and you will become a User; the information we obtain may depend on the information you provide to the applicable SNS and/or the privacy settings you have set or applied with the applicable SNS.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding and maintaining the confidentiality of your username, password and corresponding Account information. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party and that you are entirely and solely responsible for any and all activities or actions that occur pursuant to the use of your Account, whether or not you have authorised such activities or actions. You will immediately notify Tutor.id at team@tutor.id of any unauthorised use of your username, password or Account and we will immediately send you a password reset link.
  • You agree that you will not permit, enable, introduce or facilitate: (i) persons who do not have an Account to have access to the features of the Site and Services only made available to registered Tutors; and (ii) other persons to participate in providing Tutor Services from your Account.

Your Conduct

You warrant that in your use of the Website you shall:

  • use the Website only for lawful purposes, and in a manner which does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use of the Website by any third party; and
  • not engage in any conduct which is unlawful, or which may harass or cause distress or inconvenience to any person.
  • not impersonate another person or allow any other person or entity to use your username, password or membership.
  • agree that the relationship between you and Tutor.id is that of an independent contractor and nothing in Tutor.id Terms of Service may be construed as establishing an employment or agency relationship between you and Tutor.id.
  • acknowledge and agree that you are not and will not be entitled to any benefits paid or made available by Tutor.id to its employees, including, without limitation, any vacation, sick leave or similar pay or benefit, or to participate in any plans, arrangements or distributions made by Tutor.id pertaining to any bonus, stock option, profit sharing, insurance or similar benefits, whether available to employees of Tutor.id or otherwise.

For Tutors: Accept Payments, Charges & Refunds

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • accepting cash payments is solely responsibility of the user (tutor) who made an account. Tutor.id holds no responsibility in guaranteeing cash payments from students.
  • accepting card (online) payments is the only guaranteed payment method and it is only possible by connecting to Stripe.
  • we grant the amount of five free bookings monthly (meaning you must accept 5 booking requests) as free trial, however to accept higher number of bookings per month you must purchase any of the available paid subscription plans.
  • the subscription service is billed in advance on a monthly basis and is non-refundable. There will be no refunds or credits for partial months of service, upgrade/downgrade refunds, or refunds for unused months with an open account.
  • if you choose to save your details when paying for Tutor.id services (use of platform and all its features), Tutor.id reserves the right to take payment for invoices from that card. We only charge you in case you have chosen a paid subscription package.
  • all payments are to be made according to the currency of your country of residence.

For Students: Charges & Refunds

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • the student pay no subscription fee to access the selected tutor on Tutor.id
  • Tutor.id will only display the preferred tutor’s booking and cancellation policies, as well as their availabilities - tutors are independent contractors that make use of the application to manage their business.
  • accepting to pay your tutor in cash is solely a responsibility of the user who made an account. Tutor.id holds no responsibility in guaranteeing cash payments from students.
  • tutor can cancel the class at any time and you will not be charged by the lesson.
  • the refund request will be sent directly only if authorised by the tutor (e.g. if tutor did not attend a lesson booked).
  • if the student is not satisfied with the teacher or class there are no refunds based on customer dissatisfaction.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

You should not rely on the accuracy of any part of the Content. You accept and acknowledge we shall not in any way be liable for any damage, loss, costs or expenses arising directly or indirectly from your reliance on or use of any of the Content for any purpose.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the Website does not contain any error, defect, malfunction or corruption, we do not accept responsibility for any damage to or loss of data on your computer system, network or server that results from the download or use of the Website or any Content made available via the Website.

Without affecting the above statements, and except as expressly stated in these Terms, we disclaim, as far as the law allows, all warranties and representations, express or implied, in respect of any of the Content, including but not limited to warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement of third party rights or any law, compatibility, security and accuracy.

Dispute Resolution

You and Tutor.id agree that any dispute, claim or controversy between you and Tutor.id, or otherwise arising out of or relating to these Tutor Terms of Service or the breach, termination, enforcement, interpretation or validity thereof or the use of the Site or Services (collectively, "Disputes") will be settled by binding arbitration, except that each party retains the right to seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation or violation of a party's copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, patents or other intellectual property rights.
